Top Ten Tuesdays | Spring TBR

TTT

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Top Ten Books On My Spring TBR (in no particular order)

Here’s a sample of what’s on my reading list for these coming months.

1. Lands of Lost Borders by Kate Harris

I love travel memoirs and was interested in this particular title because not only is it by a Canadian but it also looks at the idea of the modern day “explorer”. One of the reasons I love traveling is exploring new places and I’m hoping to bring this book along with me if I end up going to Asia this year.

2. Vi by Kim Thuy

I’m a huge fan of Kim Thuy’s books for their gorgeous and lyrical writing style and the emotions they pack in such a thin book. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the English translation of Vi since it first came out in French. As I’m hoping to visit Vietnam again this summer, this will be the perfect airplane read for me then!

3. Toil & Trouble: 15 Tales of Women & Witchcraft edited by Tess Sharpe & Jessica Spotswood

I managed to snag an early ARC of this short story collection and am really looking forward to reading stories about witches from some of my favourite YA authours.

4. What We Were Promised by Lucy Tan

I love the cover for this book and can’t wait to read this book about an Asian American family and the secrets they hold.

5. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

Probably one of my most anticipated releases this year as it’s a romance with a love interest who’s part Vietnamese! Also the premise and cover are super cute!

6. The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde

I absolutely adored Queens of Geek and am super excited for Jen Wilde’s second book! Looking forward to the romance in this book and to another fun read.

7. Love & Luck by Jenna Evans Welch

Love & Gelato was one of my favourite travel-themed YA novels and I really want to read this follow-up novel that set in Ireland and stars the best friend of the protagonist from Love & Gelato.

8. The Summer Wives by Beatriz Williams

I read an excerpt of The Summer Wives in the Buzz Books 2018: Spring/Summer Sampler and have been dying to read the rest. Fortunately, I got approved for an eGalley so I’ll be reading and reviewing this intriguing historical title on the blog.

9. From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya Menon

When Dimple Met Rishi was one of my favourite  2017 reads. Hoping From Twinkle, with Love will be just as delightful with lots of kissing and cute and corny moments.

10. Bonjour Girl by Isabelle Laflèche

I’ve read and enjoyed the J’adore novels and am curious to see what Laflèche does with her first foray into YA fiction.
